I tried a few times with my laptop, couldn't reproduce this issue.
In your logs there's a lot of
> kwin_wayland_drm: Setting dpms mode failed!
which at least gives a hint of what's going on. For more information, we need
some drm debug logging of when the problem happens though; for how to collect
them, please check out
