Bug ID: 495228 Summary: Drag of a thumbnail over the root Albums icon in the tree fully collapses the tree, and a copy/move to the root isnt permitted Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 8.5.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Albums-Engine Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: carbonwer...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: --- *** *** SUMMARY If you are dragging an image for a copy or move from an album, a hold-over on the root album shows a red-crossed circle (no copy or move permitted), but that collapses the tree where there is no reason for that to happen (its not possible to benefit from closing the tree in a copy/move op if you cannot copy or move to the root 'Albums' folder (if that exists- it may be logical only). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. From any subfolder, select a file in thumbnail view, and click-hold/drag it to the root (Albums) entry in the tree 2. The arrow icon will change to a red/crossed circle indicating no-op possible 3. A hold there for a brief time will fully collapse the tree OBSERVED RESULT As stated in step 3, the tree collapses, but it doesnt show an indication that there are subdirectories. A hold over that position may expand the tree again, but it may require a move of the pointer away, and back to expand the tree, and then again, only with a hold time. A release/cancel will shift focus of thumbnail source to the root, where there is no content. EXPECTED RESULT There is no benefit to collapsing the tree fully, since there is no possibility to copy or move to that root folder anyway, and you cannot navigate a tree that isnt shown. Perhaps it could compress to only root folders for a navigation 'jump', but it should not fully collapse the tree.
