AMD can use OpenCL which will still allow for GPU offloading and speedup. Follow these steps to make sure it's enabled if possible. 1. Go to Preferences/Configuration->Miscellaneous->System and make sure "Disable hardware acceleration OpenCL" is unchecked. (optional, but will make it faster) 2. Restart digiKam 3. Check if your computer is OpenCL capable by going to "Help->Components Information->OpenCV Configuration->OpenCL availability" (optional, but will make it faster) 4. If your computer is NOT OpenCL capable, go to Preferences/Configuration->Miscellaneous->System and make sure "Disable hardware acceleration OpenCL" is checked to turn off calls to OpenCL.
