Bug ID: 494365 Summary: Kdenlive 24 does not support Windows 7 anymore Classification: Applications Product: kdenlive Version: 24.08.1 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Setup & Installation Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: lilalex...@proton.me Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Hello, I just tried to install kdenlive on my moms laptop which has Windows 7. Before the installation i looked up if Windows 7 is even supported and the Official site says it is. So i installed the latest Kdenlive 24 version and ran it, to my surprise i had an Error. "Unable to find an entry point named 'GetCurrentPackageFullName' in DLL 'kernel32.dll'". I searched a bit and found https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/why-do-i-see-the-following-message-the-procedure/6093157f-4755-4143-aad2-002517eb0b78 Where someone said that GetCurrentPackageFullName was added in Windows 8.1, After a bit of thinking i looked up if Qt6 has Windows 7 support. Nope is does not. But Qt5 has. So Kdenlive 23 works TL;DR Since Kdenlive 24 ported to Qt6 (which has no Windows 7 support), It does not work on Windows 7. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Kdenlive 24 (on Windows 7) 2. Run Kdenlive 24 OBSERVED RESULT Crash :c EXPECTED RESULT No Crash :D SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 7 Qt Version: 6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please remove Windows 7 support from the docs. For at least say that only Kdenlive 23 and below support Windows 7 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
