Bug ID: 493681 Summary: EWS resource can no longer connect to hotmail.com due to Microsoft removing basic authentication Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: EWS Resource Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: brunopit...@hotmail.com CC: c...@carlschwan.eu, kri...@op.pl Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a hotmail (outlook.com) account 2. Try to add it to KMail using EWS transport OBSERVED RESULT When adding using password, “Failed to process EWS request: Host requires authorization” When adding using OAuth, a dialog pops up asking for login and password, and then a throbber dialog hangs indefinitely after entering correct password. EWS URL is set to https://outlook.office365.com/ews/exchange.asmx I also tried to replace the domail with `m.hotmail.com` and `m.outlook.com` but neither of these worked. EXPECTED RESULT Authenticating using password worked in the past. OAuth never worked for me.
