But on waiting for about 10 seconds, the password-prompt times out and fades away to show the background, if I brought it up by pressing Shift. Activating the password-prompt with a mouse move, I see it fade after 10 seconds and reappear for a second timer, to finally be removed after ~20 seconds total. So, yes, the bug also exists in a kwin-wayland session.
