Bug ID: 493030 Summary: Cover art of playing track in Elisa's Party Mode is blurry even if the embedded art is high resolution Classification: Applications Product: Elisa Version: 24.08.0 Platform: Flatpak OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr Reporter: 1...@mailbox.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 173592 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=173592&action=edit Cover art viewed in Elisa vs. in VLC SUMMARY The cover art of the currently playing track in Party Mode appears blurry/low resolution even if the embedded art is high resolution. To be very clear, I am *not* talking about what happens when a low resolution cover art is resized to fill the window in Party Mode (like what seems to be reported in bug 457183) — the blurriness there is expected. The issue I'm reporting is that even very high resolution cover art appears blurry. The cover art looks very sharp when the song is played in VLC or when exported and viewed in an image viewer. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Play a song with high resolution (like 1500x1500 and above) embedded cover art in Elisa's Party Mode. 2. Observe blurriness in the image. 3. Play song in VLC and observe no blurriness. OBSERVED RESULT The cover art looks blurry as if it was low resolution. EXPECTED RESULT The cover art looks as sharp as the image itself when viewed in e.g. Gwenview. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.10.7-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7600 Elisa (Flatpak) 24.08.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION See the attached video (100% display scaling, 2560x1440 monitor). In it, I compare the displayed cover art in Elisa's Party Mode to how it looks in VLC. The "song" tested (13s of silence) is .opus with the embedded cover art being a square 2160x2160 crop of the Plasma 6 4K wallpaper. I can provide those if needed, but I could reproduce this issue with every single other .mp3, .opus, .flac, etc. with high res cover art in my playlist that I tested. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
