I had similar problems with monitor handling, and at last i upgraded to 5.8.3
(as described above) and now it got completely unusable: the "Display and
Monitor" settings button simply closes the configuration window.
Some years ago i was happy with KDE but in the recent years it got more and
more unstable. Unfortunately i also need to switch to another window manager.
