In the debug log I sas more "database is locked. Waited 0" and a bunch of new "Retray to preare query" messages. I'll attach the debug file. Thus, prolem solved, performance is a bit degraded, but data do not get corrupted anymore. Thanks. One thing I do not really understand is, why digiKam says "No pending reconcillation of meta data" (if this is the correct translation of the info in the lower status bar of the main window), but when I quit digiKam it is reconcilling the meta data that were just written to the files before.
