And just today I had the problem again, needed to reboot the PC.I guess I
solved the cases where the PC falls asleep, but not the case where the NAS
sleeps / connection is gone.

It may be interesting to know that:1. I noticed also konsole gets stuck if I
try to browse the affected samba mounts, pointing to a deeper system issue2. I
worked around this problem by setting up the samba mounts with autofs instead
of fixed entries in fstab.3. A consequence is that I now never get suggestions
for files on the mounts by pressing the windows key and typing the
first letters. Apparently that needs a file mounted as if it is a local file.
