            Bug ID: 491879
Summary: Allow "Turn Off Screen" in inactivity actions
    Classification: Applications
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: master
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcm_powerdevil
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: anditosan1...@gmail.com
                CC: k...@privat.broulik.de, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Currently there are only 3 main actions on the setting:

"After a period of inactivity:"
1. Do nothing
2. Sleep
3. Shutdown

I would like to suggest adding the "Turn off screen"

This is because sometimes you don't want your computer to sleep as it is slower
to wake up. Not only that, as noted in other areas, clamshell use of a laptop
does not allow for external usb mouse or keyboard to wake up the laptops from
sleep. Users have to physically pick up the laptop and open it to wake up the
machine.

By adding this additional option, the laptop never sleeps but doesn't keep a
screen on. It will allow for external mouse and keyboard to wake up the
machine.
