Bug ID: 491705 Summary: kdeconnect do not connect in phone AP mode. Classification: Applications Product: kdeconnect Version: 23.08.5 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: tnem...@free.fr CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I connect my phone to my laptop through 2 means: 1. using a common access point in an office infrastructure 2. using my phone as a wifi AP. I have paired my phone and my laptop correctly using the office wifi infrastructure but when I'm using my phone as an AP when I'm away on business (or on holidays), kdeconnect cannot detect the phone (or the phone does not reply to the laptop). Here are the operations I attempted: - I have disabled the FW to be sure - ```bash $ netcat -z -v 192.168.217.81 1714-1764 2>&1 | grep succ Connection to 192.168.217.81 1716 port [tcp/*] succeeded! ``` - ssh 192.168.217.81 (I have termux installed) -> ok - ```bash $ sudo netstat -tunelp | grep -i kdeconnect tcp6 0 0 :::1716 :::* LISTEN 1000 204575 75864/kdeconnectd udp6 0 0 :::1716 :::* 1000 204574 75864/kdeconnectd ``` WTF ? No IPv4 ? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure kdeconnect on both a phone and a laptop over an office wan 2. Turn an android phone into a wifi AP 3. Connect a kdeconnect-equiped laptop to the phone 4. Try and detect the phone through the kdeconnect application. OBSERVED RESULT The phone is not detected ("associated device is not available"). EXPECTED RESULT The laptop and the phone should be able to communicate through kdeconnect.
