This would be similar to the Open folder -functionality: it would open the
folder to the projects view.
Currently when you drag & drop a folder to the Projects pane, a dialog pops up
saying:
"You dropped the directory ..... into Kate. Do you want to open all files
contained in it?" - Open All Files / Cancel
Instead it could say "open folder" too. And open it to the Projects view.
Additionally: if you drag a folder to a project view with an open project, it
will trigger a folder copy. That might be a bit odd.
