            Bug ID: 489746
Summary: Preserve window maximization when dragging to a new
                    screen
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
           Version: 6.1.1
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: multi-screen
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm running KDE Plasma with X11 and recently upgraded from KWin 6.0.5 to 6.1.1.
With 6.0.5, if I drag a maximized window from one screen to another screen (in
a dual-monitor setup), then it stays maximized on the destination screen,
adapting its size if necessary to fit the new screen dimensions. With 6.1.1,
if I drag a maximized window from one screen to another screen, it restores its
geometry (that is, un-maximizes), which is not what I want. I need to manually
maximize the window again.

I don't understand why this behaviour has changed and I don't see any way of
restoring the original behaviour. Could you please either restore the original
behaviour, or add a configuration option to System Settings that allows the
user to determine whether windows should preserve their maximization status
when dragged to a new screen?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Maximize a window.
2. Drag the window to a different screen of a multi-monitor setup.

OBSERVED RESULT
3. The window is no longer maximized.

EXPECTED RESULT
3. The window should stay maximized (adapting its size to the new screen
dimensions if necessary).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2
