Bug ID: 488875 Summary: Regression in audio device names Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.1.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: zastrixarund...@gmail.com CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 170732 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=170732&action=edit The device names are the same now SUMMARY With plasma 6.1, the names for audio devices was changed. If an audio device has multiple audio inputs it doesn't differentiate anymore. For example I have a Scarlett Solo and on KDE 6.0.5 I could clearly see the audio input for my guitar / line-in and audio input for my microphone. On KDE 6.1 it just shows Scarlett Solo USB and Scarlett Solo USB. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open audio devices via the tray 2. See that the audio devices are wrong OBSERVED RESULT It is not differentiated from another similar input on the same device. EXPECTED RESULT That it shows exactly the name of the device according to the input.
