I have 'Show seconds' set to 'Always'. Setting that to 'Never' stops the continuous screen repaints after virtual desktop switching. Enabling the seconds again brings it back again, but not when I switch desktops right after clicking 'Apply'. I have to close the 'Configure digital clock' window and then switch desktops.
