Bug ID: 488011 Summary: Krita Palette Docker - Multiple issues from adding swatch groups Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: * Unknown Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: xei...@proton.me Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Trying to edit the current palette to add a swatch group with the Palette Editor results in various problems. - Adding a new swatch group to an existing custom palette fails, and no new swatch groups are added. Krita denotes that the palette was edited (changing the name to italics and prefixing with an asterisk), however the intended change is not preserved even if the palette is saved afterwards. - If the user attempts to add a swatch group, in addition to the previous problem, the Palette Docker will sometimes not load other palettes. This issue does not seem to function consistently, and clicking through other available palettes will sometimes resolve the problem. - If the above occurs, and the name of the palette was also changed, saving the palette will result in no palette being loaded if Krita is quit and reopened. The name change will be preserved however and show properly if the palette is manually selected again from available ones, however the added swatch groups still will not be present. Notably, the palette will still respect changes to individual swatches if saved, and the changes to swatches will be loaded properly once Krita is restarted. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select a palette in the Palette Docker. 2. Click the "Edit current palette" button to open the palette editor window. 3. Click "Add a swatch group". 4. Name the new swatch group and select any number of rows, then click "OK". 5. Change the palette name. 6. Click "OK". 7. Click the button in the Palette Docker to save the palette explicitly. OBSERVED RESULT The palette will not have updated properly in the Palette Docker and not have added the new swatch group. Additionally there will be other unexpected behavior with the Docker depending on what changes were made in the Palette Editor. Depending on the changes made, no palette will be loaded into the Palette Docker on the next session. EXPECTED RESULT The palette should update properly, respecting all changes made in the Palette Editor window. The Palette Docker should also display the previously loaded palette when Krita is restarted. The following output of the log is the same for both the session where the bug was reproduced, as well as after a restart (when no palette is loaded in the Palette Docker afterwards).
