Bug ID: 487642 Summary: Selecting "Rectangular Region" for screenshot does not hide spectacle window. Classification: Applications Product: Spectacle Version: 24.05.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: noaha...@gmail.com Reporter: abias1...@gmail.com CC: k...@david-redondo.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 169888 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169888&action=edit This is what you should encounter if you follow the reproduction steps. *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY When the user tries to take a screenshot using the "Rectangular Region" option, the spectacle window is still shown. This makes it very difficult to take cropped screenshots of things, especially on smaller screen sizes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Spectacle 2. Click "Rectangular Region" option OBSERVED RESULT The Spectacle window is still visible in the center of the screen. EXPECTED RESULT The Spectacle window should be hidden so I can take a screenshot unobstructed.
