SUMMARY
In all the applications i use (Gimp, Audacity, Chromium, Steam, etc) the cursor
will change to an "X" when opening certain menus, for example, right-clicking
on a tool in GIMP, or opening the options menu in Chromium.

I also noticed the bug also happens when moving the mouse to an edge trigger on
the desktop with no apps open.

I made a post on Reddit with more information on the bug
https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comments/1cusz8k/mouse_cursor_changes_to_an_x_whenever_i_open_a/
