--- Comment #11 from Martin Tlustos <martin.tlus...@gmail.com> --- I redid the whole testing process with the same parameters (same file, same usb disk, both baloo enabled and disabled, both windows 11 and kde, this time kf6). I also enabled/disabled file preview in dolphin to see whether that would make any difference. File copying this time takes about 2 minutes for 2.1GB, there are no big differences between baloo enabled/disabled, dolphin preview enabled/disabled, cp or dolphin, and linux or windows 11. Linux seems to be a bit slower, and the disk activity jumps up and down more, but that might be caused by windows only reporting 5s average speeds vs linux reporting disk writing speeds every second. So the issue of those long breaks with no disk activity seems to be gone.
