SUMMARY
Whenever I install ubuntu, first thing I do is uninstall all snaps and snapd
and then pin-priority -1 to snapd to prevent it from installing. Discover
Software Center always works on Lubuntu after doing this on 23.04, 23.10, etc.

With 24.04, after snapd is removed and all snaps are purged, Discover Software
Center WILL NOT LAUNCH.
We try to identify why by running it through Terminal, terminal gives two
errors. I can't remember what the first error was but it was something generic.

The second error dialogue in terminal I got was generated when I was running
sudo plasma-discover, it said this:
kns-backend attempted (failed) and listed other backends in parathensis (snap,
flatpack, etc).

I tried uninstalling and removing all files and re-installing with apt. Didn't
work.

What fixed it: If you REMOVE snapd, you have to remove
plasma-discover-snap-backend package. The plasma-discover snap package that
comes with installing Discover has to be removed. Once I deleted the snap
package related to Discover store (that auto installs with it), Discover
Software Center launched. This never happened before on older installations of
Ubuntu. Please fix this because the fix is not intuitive. It complains that
kns-backend and others are failing (when all the backends are installed), and
the only backend that doesn't work is the snap one and needs to just be
uninstalled.

Latest version of Lubuntu 24.04

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please fix this so people won't wonder how to make Discover Software Center
work after purging snapd. F*ck snaps.
