It seems like something set The Qt Quick renderer backend to software and the bugs were only appearing there. >From my ~/.config/kdeglobals file: [QtQuickRendererSettings] SceneGraphBackend=software Removing those lines and logging out and back in again fixed both the crashing and the corrupted taskbar icons.
