Bug ID: 485630 Summary: Dolphin crashes when dragging png file to a FF window Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 24.02.2 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: drkonqi Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: michal.dybc...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Application: dolphin (24.02.2) Qt Version: 6.7.0 Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Operating System: Linux 6.8.6-1-MANJARO x86_64 Windowing System: Wayland Distribution: Manjaro Linux DrKonqi: 6.0.3 [CoredumpBackend] -- Information about the crash: This happened on one specific PNG file that I wanted to drag over to the Firefox window/site to upload it. I tried several times and at first, Dolphin was blocked (it happens once in a while), meaning, that dragging seems to be deactivated from some reason. I restarted Dolphin, attempted to drag the fileThis happened on one specific PNG file that I wanted to drag over to the Firefox window/site to upload it. I tried several times and at first, Dolphin was blocked (it happens once in a while), meaning, that dragging seems to be deactivated from some reason. I restarted Dolphin, attempted to drag the file, but as usual, it wasn't working, and I had to try it a few times, then Dolphin crashed. After automatic restart, the first attempt to drag the file resulted in another crash. Dolphin has MASSIVE issues (many of them) with the drag-drop feature. I am observing this since months on Wayland (don't know if it happens on X11). It's even hard to describe, because the symptoms are various: 1) first drag-drop action doesn't work in 80% of cases 2) usually the second attempt was sucessful, but lately I have to try 3-6 times till it works 3) drag-drop sometimes (sporadically) disables untill Dolphin is restarted 4) crash (very, very rarely) The same issue was on a different laptop, with the same system but diffwerent hardware (hybird setup with Intel/Nvidia). Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.8.6-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics Memory: 30.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics Manufacturer: TUXEDO Product Name: TUXEDO Sirius 16 Gen1 The crash can be reproduced sometimes. -- Backtrace (Reduced): #4 QScopedPointer<QObjectData, QScopedPointerDeleter<QObjectData> >::get (this=0x8, this=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/qt6-base/qtbase-everywhere-src-6.7.0/src/corelib/tools/qscopedpointer.h:110 [...] #7 QObject::deleteLater (this=0x0) at /usr/src/debug/qt6-base/qtbase-everywhere-src-6.7.0/src/corelib/kernel/qobject.cpp:2456 #8 0x0000731348836cce in KDEPrivate::KUrlNavigatorButton::dragMoveEvent (this=0x5b97abc1d9e0, event=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/kio/kio-6.1.0/src/filewidgets/kurlnavigatorbutton.cpp:323 #9 0x00007313471470d3 in QWidget::event (this=0x5b97abc1d9e0, event=0x7ffe0055ece0) at /usr/src/debug/qt6-base/qtbase-everywhere-src-6.7.0/src/widgets/kernel/qwidget.cpp:9237 #10 0x00007313470fbfcb in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=this@entry=0x5b97aa8e4290, receiver=0x5b97abc1d9e0, e=e@entry=0x7ffe0055ece0) at /usr/src/debug/qt6-base/qtbase-everywhere-src-6.7.0/src/widgets/kernel/qapplication.cpp:3287 Reported using DrKonqi -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
