I locked manually using the Meta+L shortcut and got it to remain black once before a correctly painted lock screen, in another session black on a following lock screen after the initial one worked correctly. I posted my logs into a GitLab snippet: https://invent.kde.org/-/snippets/3059 They look roughly alike, no particular differences stick out to me between locks that worked fine and locks that turned black with cursor.
