Bug ID: 484291 Summary: [Request] Expanding functionality of Krunner - Searching internet directly from desktop using krunner and presenting results Classification: I don't know Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: agap...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: --- Would it be possible to do a search query from the desktop using krunner and then having it show top 5 internet search engine results for a query directly in krunner. Would that be difficult to implement? For example, if I search for `g gaming` using krunner it would be nice if it showed the following results: Youtube: gaming Reddit: r/gaming Wikipedia: gaming Verge: gaming CNET: gaming More: gaming - click here for more results While also presenting a brief explanation of each link. It would further expand the functionality of using krunner to search for stuff. I think the convenience and utility of such a feature is truly immense - being able to select the link that interests you (or even expand it further to look in the browser) would save so much time when googling stuff (sometimes I just want to briefly google a highly technical term and having to type `g term` and then scroll through browser for example, is much slower than having it briefly appear on desktop and then moving on. When you have to write a thesis, every bit of time saved is a godsend! If it's too difficult to add I understand, but it would sure be great to have and really put KDE ahead of everyone even more than it is! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
