            Bug ID: 483602
Summary: Animated gif wallpapers don't use hardware
                    acceleration
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: Plasma Workspace Wallpapers
           Version: 6.0.2
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: paul-ser...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Animated Gif wallpapers don't use hardware acceleration, instead processing
everything on the CPU. VA-API is installed and vainfo shows that hardware
acceleration is active.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set an animated gif as wallpaper (higher resolution, more frames, or having
additional monitors makes issue more apparent)

OBSERVED RESULT
CPU usage goes up, indicating that the CPU is processing the wallpaper and not
the GPU

EXPECTED RESULT
GPU handles displaying GIF wallpapers
