Bug ID: 482692 Summary: "Close Other Documents" should maybe just apply to current window Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 23.08.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: e...@horse64.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I would like to suggest "Close Other Documents" should just apply to current window, in my humble opinion. Or does anyone actually expect this to apply to tabs on tab bars they didn't even click on and don't have in their view? (= in other kate windows?) I sure found it surprising. Since I tend to open one project per kate window and navigate each separately, it also severely hampers the use of "Close Other Documents" since right now this breaks that separation and makes me basically not want to ever use it. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like maybe it's not. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open kate 2. Use File > New Window to open 2nd window 3. Use File > Open Folder in both windows to open separate folders in each 4. Open various files from the file tree in both windows separately 5. In one window, right-click any of the multiple file tabs and click "Close Other Documents" OBSERVED RESULT Tabs in the other window I'm not even dealing with right now suddenly close. EXPECTED RESULT Effect of this action is limited to current kate window and only the tab bar I actually used it on.
