Bug ID: 481220 Summary: No sound with external monitor when HDMI selected Classification: Plasma Product: plasma-pa Version: 5.93.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: m...@iyanmv.com CC: isma...@gmail.com, m...@ratijas.tk, now...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 165750 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=165750&action=edit Audio panel SUMMARY With Plasma 5.x I could select HDMI directly from the Audio panel in the system tray and it would switch immediately. With exactly the same setup, and only updating to Plasma 6 RC 2 (same pipewire version, kernel, docking station, etc.), this doesn't work for me anymore. Audio is not send correctly to HDMI device as before. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Attack laptop to docking station (I'm using Thunderbolt 4) 2. HDMI audio shows correctly in the audio panel 3. Selecting HDMI removes audio from laptop's built-in speakers, but audio is not played in the monitor OBSERVED RESULT Not working as with Plasma 5.x EXPECTED RESULT Audio panel correctly switches audio to HDMI entry SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.93.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.249.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.7.4-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 20XYCTO1WW System Version: ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Docking station used is a Dell WD19TBS -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
