Sorry, it was a design decision. The old view suffered from numerous conceptual
issues stemming from collapsing a two-dimensional grid into a one-dimensional
list, and we got a lot of bug reports about it. We tried showing the entire
grid, but it often took up so much space that there wasn't much room for your
windows anymore. In the end the current design was the result of a lot of
iteration and I think we're going to stick with it.
