After some further testing, it seems like I was mistaken while making the
initial bug report. The crashing is caused by the animated cursor when used
with an AMD GPU. I have the same cursor on a Fedora 39 Kinoite install on my
secondary laptop, which has a 60hz monitor and an intel UHD 620 integrated GPU
where the issue does not occur.
Returning back to the default breeze cursor on my desktop completely gets rid
of this crash, while enabling the cursor again causes the crash and reload to
occur again reliably.
