STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS, install kate snap using sudo snap install kate
--classic
2. launch kate

OBSERVED RESULT
Systematic crash:
>$ kate
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
>$ dmesg
[ 6816.680004] kate[12392]: segfault at ffffffffffffffff ip ffffffffffffffff sp
00007fff06d77518 error 15
[ 6816.680010] Code: Unable to access opcode bytes at RIP 0xffffffffffffffd5.
