I can confirm that removing Power widget from the task bar and upgrading back to latest plasma-desktop-5.27.8-2 from v 5.27.5 seems to solve this problem. Restarting the desktop remains stable minimising any window or switching activities. For some reason re-adding this power widget to the desktop also remains stable.
