Bug ID: 370208 Summary: KDE Neon updated to 5.8 - now can't log in (blank screen after splash) Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: averyfree...@gmail.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Hi I had a working copy of KDE Neon 5.7 on my Thinkpad X220 (i5-2410m 16GB ram) I upgraded the system using apt-get. The screen went blank. now whenever I try to start the computer, I get the KDE Neon 5.8 splash screen, but nothing after that. The system is not hung - keys do not respond, but if I press the power button or CTRL-ALT-DEL combination (maybe just any key?) the splash screen returns and the system reboots. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? I miss KDE. Thanks Avery Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on computer 2. Press key combination or power button 3. Resets Actual Results: System booted to splash screen / animation (KDE Neon 5.8 banner) Screen goes blank System reboots - wash, rinse, repeat. Expected Results: Login screen should appear so I can use my computer :P Had been using KDE Neon 5.7 for about 2 months with no problems up until now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
