When you apply your workaround, does it stop working again after you restart
the machine?
Where are the images for the slideshow located? On a local disk or an external
or remote disk? Are the image files all visible, or are any of them hidden
(i.e. their filenames begin with a period)?
What rexact Plasma version are you using?
