            Bug ID: 470785
Summary: General quality of life improvements
    Classification: Applications
           Product: krename
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Neon
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: heiko.bec...@kde.org
          Reporter: loudsq...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I've been using Krename to batch rename some files that need to be copied into
incremented folders. I've noticed a few issues with Krename that could use some
work. These are just suggestions after using the tool.

- There should be an option to use the same template options for the folder
name as the filename (i.e. increment the folder number)
- There should be a checkbox to create the folder if it doesn't exist (this
prevents being asked again and again when you click finish)
- Create a menu bar
- Plugins tab moved to the menu bar
- There should be an option to restart Krename with all the previous settings
unchanged. It's pretty annoying to have to reapply the folder destination and
template rules again and again. The whole point of a batch renamer is that it
should do these things for you.
- In the Filename -> Advanced Filename Tab, the option for numerical increment
shouldn't be hidden in the 'Numbering...' button as it will be the most used
option when renaming
- Option for removing characters from the start or end of the filename should
be added (.
- Finish button shouldn't be greyed out in the other tabs (it is only active in
the filename tab, however if I want to execute the renaming from the
destination tab, I should be allowed to do it)
