Bug ID: 470554 Summary: Left-clicking app icon in system tray does not consistently open apps, instead it activates the right-click context menu Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.27.5 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: System Tray Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: glub...@yahoo.co.uk CC: mate...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 159411 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159411&action=edit Bitwaden icon left-click result SUMMARY The behavior of the system tray is inconsistent. Some apps open when their icon is left-clicked (expected behavior), instead others show the same context menu you would get when you right-click. The left-click should open the app while right-click should show the context menu. This behavior should be consistent for all apps that show in the system tray. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install and open some apps, e.g. MS Teams for Linux, Whatsapp Desktop, Bitwarden, Dropbox and many others. 2. Close the app window so it is hidden, but still running as indicated by the system tray icon. 3. Left-click the app icon in the system tray. OBSERVED RESULT The left-click opens the same context menu as right-click. EXPECTED RESULT Instead the app should open and not show the context menu (only if right-clicked should it do so).
