I can confirm there's a problem with screenMapping in that file.  

I followed Nikolas's method to get a huge screenMapping entry in that file and
the  next time I logged in I got "failed to allocate memory"  when I tried to
launch any application using kickoff or icons pinned to the task manager.  

The system as a whole had not run out of memory as I could still launch the
apps using krunner.

Removing the screenMapping entry resolved the problem.
