Bug ID: 468850 Summary: Akonadi and Mariadb/Mysql is not Service Manager Agnostic (Memory not Freed 280) Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: libakonadi Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: kdelo...@mozej.com Target Milestone: --- STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install something else than spaghetti systemd, e.g. Artix Plasma RUNIT 2. Install KDE PIM metapackage, mariadb-runit, whatever you need 3. Restart System 4. Go to tty1 OBSERVED RESULT Mariadb/Akonadi is not compatible with other service managers (its not agnostic). Look what is going on on "tty1" and what craziness Akonadi/Mariadb is doing. After one night of leaving the computer on it will freeze the whole system. Mariadb/Akonadi INDEFINITELY SPAWNS THE PROCESS CALLED "runvs mariadb" (see htop) Adonadi/mariaddb must be manually killed after each system startup by user $ 'sv stop mariadb'. EXPECTED RESULT I have no idea what you should do. Just look at tty1 and judge it for yourself. Stop spawning endless messages through the whole user session about "some memory not freed 280, critical error" right after system startup (you don't have to do anything and this is what happens when you start the system). Big fail. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Artix KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Going to tty1 is a must to understand the problem. Akonadi creators must disect it by themselves. Yes you have to install Artix Plasma with runit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
