This is getting slightly off-topic now, but is still related!
Newer slack versions (using 4.29 here) seem to suffer from this differently.
On my Tumbleweed system (specs below), I've straced it, but the slack URI
appeared lowercased already (electron?), and is not fed through kde-open5
anymore!
For all, that come across this AND still want to use the app, here's an
antidote: https://pypi.org/project/slackfix, as well as
https://github.com/frispete/slackfix.
