According to the logs, kwin is correctly falling back to legacy to avoid this
problem. As it works on different VMs I'm relatively confident you're
experiencing a problem on the driver or VM side.
If it worked correctly with earlier kernel versions, the problem will be in
there. A bisect would be useful for finding out what causes it
