Upon further investigation, I would first like to say that
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459872 was correctly identified as AN
issue that I have been experiencing, but it is not what I have
described/reported here.
It is possible they are related, however, the end result is not the same. My
issue is a complete freeze of the GUI entirely, which is different from the
linked colour-block artifacting reproducible when running:
> sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/amdgpu_gpu_recover
It is also very possible that I have misidentified the error I reported here as
a kwin error. Still, my inexperience with this topic prevents me from knowing
what it actually is.
