Bug ID: 464243 Summary: The taskbar can't handle too many icons Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.26.5 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: magoninhoga...@gmail.com CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 155262 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=155262&action=edit A video demonstration of what the problem is STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Place a panel at the bottom of the screen with an icon only task manager 2. Right-click on it and select Configure Icons-only Task Manager 3. In the Appearance tab make sure the Maximum rows is set to a number greater or equal to 2 4. Now right-click the panel and select Edit Mode to make the panel have a height that is less than 44 5. Open a lot of applications so you have a crowded panel OBSERVED RESULT Now, notice that the Maximum rows setting didn't have effect on a taskbar that is small enough. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 22.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-28-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 7.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M/PCIe/SSE2 Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Product Name: Inspiron 7559 System Version: 1.2.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I know that this bug is really irrelevant in real life usage, but on Windows for example, if you have a lot of apps on the taskbar, it will hide some apps and show a little scrollbar so you can see the rest of them. On the other hand, in KDE, if you don't have a minimum height for the panel to create the rows, it will force all apps to be squashed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
