Bug ID: 463936 Summary: Confusing wording in fractions activity Classification: Applications Product: gcompris Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jaz...@gmail.com Reporter: k...@huftis.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In the ‘rectangle’ levels of the fractions activity, one or more squares are shown, and each square is divided into rectangles. I therefore find it a bit confusing that the instructions say, e.g., ‘Select 1.5 rectangles’. What one should actually do in this case, is select 1.5 *squares*, i.e., one square and one half square (or the number of rectangles corresponding to 1.5 squares). It’s not *technically* wrong, since a square is also a rectangle, but it would be much less confusing if the instructions used the word ‘square’ when talking about the squares. People usually don’t think about rectangles as squares. (And the charts do also contain non-square rectangles.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch a ‘rectangle’ fraction activity. OBSERVED RESULT The instructions talks about selecting rectangles. EXPECTED RESULT The instructions should instead talk about selecting squares. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
