Tiling mode is very popular among experienced users and developers. As of today
anyone who wants tiling have to go away from KWin, because it doesn't support
it natively, and an external API to make it possible is broken, rendering
extensions like this one https://github.com/faho/kwin-tiling/ not working.
If tiling was supported upstream, it would attract many users, forced to leave
otherwise.
