Aha. I can reproduce the issue consistently with these steps:
1. Open Kickoff with the Meta key
2. Search for "vid"
3. Use pointer to hover the fourth item
4. Close Kickoff with the Meta key
5. Move the pointer away
6. Open Kickoff with the Meta key again
7. Search for "vid" again
Now the fourth item becomes inappropriately highlighted, even though the
pointer is nowhere to be found.
Let's see if I can fix it.
