In fact, after browsing through the bugs, I realised that my problem is exactly
the one described in bug#458298, including the age of the user ! :)
I applied the "sudo apt-get install breeze-icon-theme" command as recommended,
and then was able to change the theme to breeze.... and guess it works !
The Icons are not the most beautiful icons, but at least they are there.
I then tried to do the same with two other themes, Oxygen and Tango:
$ sudo apt-get install oxygen-icon-theme
$ sudo apt-get install tango-icon-theme
.... and it works too, both of them are nicer than the breeze one.
I would like to congratulate the developmenet and support team of KMyMoney for
the quality of the software and support. I have been a happy KMyMoney user
since 2009, and I will continue to use till I disappear or this software
disappears. Note that as the user in bug #458298, I am almost 70 years old.
