            Bug ID: 460241
Summary: Feature request: Make volume change in decibels
                    instead of percentages.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasma-pa
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: syiad.al-d...@web.de
                CC: m...@ratijas.tk, now...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Currently the volume can only be adjusted in percentage steps from 0 to 100%,
where the latter means maximum output. It would be nice, if the user could
change this to decibels, where 0 dB means maximum undistorted output. The
range could then e.g. be from -57 dB to +6 dB like on RockBox (c.f.
https://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-iriverh300/rockbox-buildch6.html#x9-1030006.1).
A level of +6 dB would then slightly overpower the output at the risk of
distortion.
