That is correct.  I cannot think of any use case that is made *worse* by this
change, but it does not solve the underlying problem.  I'm not sure if the
additional code complexity is worth catching one, likely rare, case.  We could
write a dozen similar-sized patches and still not actually solve the issue (I
do not think any heuristic can exist to handle the 2-identical-screens issue).
