In looking at the photo, it appears to me that it is probably related to HIPS
images not downloading fully or getting corrupted perhaps. Do you have HIPS
turned on? Maybe the DSS image set? You can try turning it off or try zooming
in and out or panning around to force HIPS to redownload images. Also note
that if you are using HIPS, it requires an internet connection to download the
images. Sometimes if I know I will be away from internet and want to use the
DSS background, I try to make it download images in the area I will be imaging
before going out in the field by zooming in and out and panning around the
thing I will be imaging that night. If you get the effects you are observing,
you can try turning HIPS off and see if that helps.
