Bug ID: 460072 Summary: Window order won't allow input - after working for an hour or so (kwin_x11) Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.25.5 Platform: OpenSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a...@triptech.net Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After running for some time (typically 30+minutes), kwin can end up in a state where windows that are visually on top will not accept focus. They will not accept input, and actions like scroll wheel act on the window below them. The application window is actually still fine, as 'kwin_x11 --replace' restores everything to normal. Happens most often when working across multiple activities. *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Sorry, unable to reproduce consistently with specific steps, but it does occur multiple times daily. (to the extent I have bound a Keyboard shortcut to restart kwin_x11) 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Windows of a running application cannot be focussed or moved, despite being visually 'on top'. EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
